Hydrofera Blue dressings do not release anything into the body, and therefore do not harm fibroblasts or growth factors that are essential to wound healing. Bacteria laden exudate is absorbed into the dressing where it is effectively killed. As this occurs, the dressing turns white. This is an indicator that there is bacteria in the wound and that its time to change the dressing.

The dressing can be used to fill tunnels to help wick bacteria laden exudate. It's safe to use over bone, tendon, and overlap surrounding skin. It does not stick to, or grow into newly formed tissue and therefore does not cause pain at dressing change.

This allows for uninterrupted absorption.

It's also repositionable ..no worries if you don’t apply the dressing exactly where you wanted, lift it, reposition, and apply again.

The dressing is made of a polyurethane foam which facilitates a high rate of moisture to transfer through the dressing and away from the wound bed. As the bacteria laden exudate passes through the dressing, the bacteria is effectively killed in the dressing. The dressing is soft, conformable and can be cut.
